backyard makeover!!!

For those of you faithful readers who love to see how much hard work we some how seem to always get ourselves into, here are some pictures of what our back yard is looking like. But now its even better, there is grass starting to poke thru and we are thrilled about that, as silly as that seems. As you can see from the fence that was how high the flower bed was before we took it all out and removed all the railroad ties that held it all in place. While Brent was busy at work I put all the rocks around the flower bed so that it matched the rest of the yard and looks finished off instead of a huge pile of dirt sitting there. Part of this dirt field is going to be a garden next year. From as wide as the shed is to almost the flower bed is going to be a garden and the kids are super excited about that. They love planting things and seeing them grow and getting to eat all the yummy veggies in the fall. So for that we are still waiting for a little more topsoil. Now for our most recent project of the year...........

Here is whats been going on the last week at our house.......... or should I say coming down at our house..........

What a huge HUGE mess!! I can't wait till this one is done...... and the new one is up so we can set up the patio furniture and get to sit out on the lovely new deck without feeling like you might fall thru!! Who ever built this thing did not know what they were doing. They used nails and glue to glue down the plywood of all things to put on the floor and then when they used screws there is at least 2 different heads they used!!! Talk about frustrating!!! So tomorrow is the big work on the deck day and I think my dad is bout ready to tie me up and hang me from a tree with all my Reno's that he has been so kind to help us with!! What would I do with out my dad!! Good thing Brent is learning alot from him and can do just about any kind of job now cause we've done them all!!!! But pay back is coming in a few weeks when he is shingling his house and we are going to help. Anyways its a good thing too that the Home Hardware up town has the wood that we need so no trips to Lethbridge to get things. So keep watching for more pictures of the finished project!! Lets hope we can at least get the floor on tomorrow!!
